Outside of almost all subway stations in Mexico City,you can find stands of people selling all kinds of stuff.The most of them sell illegal copies of movies —all of them,in any version you like (dubbed or with captions).Sometimes you can even find movies long before they premiere on theaters.
Check out that when I drew this cartoon,DVD technology wasn't available (I feel so old now!).
Magneto is of course the name of the X-men's arch-enemy,but it also was the name of a popular but awful Mexican boy band.When they disbanded,they sold a video of their farewell tour.The video's title was "El Adiós de Magneto" (Magneto's Good-bye).
When I drew this cartoon,the idea of selling a video of Superman's death seemed too shameless,yet in 2008 the Warner Bros. did release a video of said death.

A las afueras de casi todas las estaciones del metro en la Ciudad de México,es posible encontrar puestos de gente vendiendo toda clase de cosas.La mayoría de ellos venden copias ilegales de películas —de todas,y en cualquier versión (dobladas o con subtítulos).A veces se pueden conseguir películas incluso desde mucho antes de que se estrenen en cines.
Nótese cómo cuando dibujé este cartón,la tecnología del DVD aún no estaba disponible (¡Para sentirse viejo!).
Magneto es por supuesto el nombre del archienemigo de los X-men,pero también era el nombre de una popular pero horrenda banda pop masculina.Cuando se separaron,sacaron a la venta un video de su gira de despedida.El título del video fue "El Adiós de Magneto".
Cuando dibujé el cartón,la idea de que se vendiera un video con la Muerte de Superman sonaba bastante desvergonzado,ysin embargo en el 2008 la Warner Bros. de hecho sacó a la venta un video de dicha muerte.
