Supergirl,Steel and Superboy —Hello! Anyone here called for the Superman Team...? Peen-pohm >snap-snap< Potatoes!! Peen-pohm >snap-snap< Potatoes!!
Superboy —Dammit! I never can snap my fingers right!
Doriancito —Uh-Oh! What do we do now?
Samy —Do you have a phone card? We still can call Gen 13...

Back in the '80s in Mexico there was a cult comedy TV show known as La Carabina de Ambrosio (Ambrosio's Rifle, but a more proper translation would be 'The Poultice On The Wooden Leg').In this show, comedian Alejandro Suarez sometimes appeared as a parody of Superman, using the name of Supermam —a pun meaning Super-Dolt.His catchphrase was a very silly one (Peen-pohm,Potatoes! —he was supposed to be a simpleton, you know) and was accompanied by some even more sillier hand movements and a double finger snap.

Yeah,it all sounds a bit complicated and not very funny at all —except of course for nostalgic people who watched La Carabina de Ambrosio.

Political demonstrations with lots of people are very common in Mexico —there's at least one or two each week.In Mexico City, demonstrations are usually people marching through the streets before reaching a government building in particular.Palacio Nacional (National Palace) is where the President's offices are,and it's located right in front of the square known as Zocalo.

This cartoon was directly inspired by the relaunch of the Avengers ongoing series right after the Heroes Reborn event (hence the Rob Liefeld sign). For the relaunch,George Perez drew a cover with almost all the Marvel super-heroes who were members of the Avengers, and I joked with some friends about it looked almost like a syndicate in a political march —the rest is drawn here as you can see.

Robin —Hey,Is this the line for the UNAM admission exam?
Impulse —Yup.
Superboy —Say...Can I bum you a spare #2 pencil?
Captain Marvel Jr. —I'm so dumb! I forgot the 4 credential-size photographs!

Mexican teenagers whom want to study in a public high school or university must do the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico) admission exam. That means making long lines, carrying strictly #2 pencil and a lot of documents —including your own photos for your future student ID card. For many kids, this is almost a rite of passage,as this is the first of many bureaucratic process they must face during his life in Mexico.
