When I drew this cartoon,the idea of a third sequel to the Secret Wars crossover was unthinkable since Secret Wars 2 wasn't really a hit that could guarantee more profits...but then,some years later,Marvel Comics did indeed publish a third crossover using the Secret Wars brand name —or more exactly,Secret War.
Anyway,Televizca (Cross-eyed TV) is a pun on the name of the Televisa entertainment corporation,and that company is well known for being quite opportunist when it's about making profits.

The sign satirizes 2 of Televisa's most popular slogans:«Uniendo a la Gran Familia Mexicana» (Gathering the Big Mexican Family) and «Una estrella más del Canal de Las Estrellas» (Another star of the stars' network).

The Teleton is an annual telethon organized by Televisa with the purpose of raising funds to help children with disabilities.That's a noble goal alrigth,but the event itself is very well known for its many cheesy and tear-jerker moments.

Cuando dibujé este cartón,la idea de una tercera secuela al crossover de Secret Wars era inconcebible desde el momento en que Secret Wars 2 no fue tan exitosa como para garantizar más ganancias...pero entonces,algunos años después,la Marvel Comics siempre sí publicó un tercer crossover usando la marca de Secret Wars —o más exactamente,Secret War.
Como sea,Televizca es una parodia del nombre de la corporación de entretenimiento Televisa,y esa compañía es de sobra conocida por ser muy oportunista cuando se trata de hacer ganancias.

La pancarta satiriza 2 de los slogans más populares de Televisa:«Uniendo a la Gran Familia Mexicana» y «Una estrella más del Canal de Las Estrellas».

El Teleton es un maratón televisivo anual organizado por Televisa con el propósito de reunir fondos para ayudar a niños discapacitados.Ciertamente es un fin noble,pero el evento mismo es bastante conocido por sus muchos momentos cursis y sentimentaloides.

Can you find Waldo in this pic? Okay,Waldo is not actually there,but still there's a lot of characters and not all of them are super-heroes.
Mexico City's airport is very crowded,so it's not hard to think how chaotic it would become if there were flying super-heroes everywhere.

(And yes,I'm a fan of the Japanese Godzilla,but I didn't thought the American version was very bad at all)

¿Pueden encontrar a Wally en esta imagen? Okay,Wally no está realmente ahí,pero igual hay hartos personajes y no todos son superhéroes.
El aeropuerto de la Ciudad de México está muy congestionado,así que no es muy difícil imaginar qué tan caótico sería si hubieran superhéroes voladores por todos lados.

(Y sí,soy fan del Godzilla japonés,pero la versión americana no se me hizo tan mala)

In Mexico City,street children can't get jobs because they're too young,and because of that many of them choose to earn some coins by washing cars' windshields while they stop in front of red lights.Many car owners don't like them because children usually jump on the cars' hoods for reaching the windshields,and they don't usually ask first if you want them to clean your glass or not.

En la Ciudad de México,los niños de la calle no pueden conseguir empleos dada su corta edad,y por eso muchos de ellos optan por ganarse unas monedas lavando parabrisas de los autos que se detienen frente a los semáforos en rojo.A muchos propietarios de autos no les gusta ésto,pues los niños usualmente se trepan sobre los cofres de los autos para alcanzar los parabrisas,y usualmente nunca preguntan primero si uno quiere que limpien o no el vidrio.
